Gangtok, 25 Jan: The Covid-19 Vaccination Session Site for Doctors, Nurses and Staff of Central Referral Hospital (CRH), a constituent hospital of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS) under Sikkim Manipal University ( SMU) was formally launched here at SMU premises today.
The vaccination site is well contained with all necessary infrastructure.
The launch programme was held in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, SMU, Lt. Gen. Dr R. S. Grewal along with Dr Phumzay Denzongpa, Director RCH cum State Immunisation Officer, Govt of Sikkim; Dr Manisha Rai, Deputy Director Urban PHC Gangtok and Dr Kuljan Lama, Medical Officer Urban PHC SPO UNDP Government of Sikkim. Brig Dr V.K. Mehta, Dean, SMIMS; Prof Dr KS Sherpa, Registrar, SMU; Prof Dr Yogesh Verma, Medical Superintendent, CRH; Prof Dr Mingma L Sherpa, Head of Operations, CRH and Prof Dr Sumit Kar, Dept of PSM were present on the occasion.
A total of 100 vaccines were identified on the launch day. Prof Dr Parvati Nandy, Head of Department of Medicine CRH was the first recipient today and this will continue to cover all eligible staff in the coming days.
