Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur inspected many important places during his second day visit to North Sikkim.

During the tour, the Governor inspected the Zema-II bridge for the first time. On the occasion they also observed the 360-foot-long Bailey suspension bridge, which is likely to be completed soon.

During this time, Lieutenant Colonel Hemant Kumar gave detailed information about project progress, technical details and current situation of construction work. The Governor praised the construction work, said that the completion of these bridges will smooth transportation to the border areas of North Sikkim and benefit the local public too.

After this, the Governor visited and inspected Gurudongmar Lake (17,000 feet). There he observed various development projects going on under the Mission Operation Goodwill of the Indian Army, including community halls, tourist view point and utility facilities. Some additional projects were offered during this time, including mainly Prayer Wheels and Soldiers statues. The Governor has assured to give every possible support to these proposed projects.

After this Hon'ble Governor reached ITBP Kerang Post (11 battalion), situated at an altitude of 17,000 feet.

In addition to this, the Governor visited the Donkyala Pass (18,400 feet) today, which is the motorable highest post. Here they were informed that the street wasn't black top until last year, but this year it's completely black top.

The tour concluded with a visit to Yumthang Valley.
