Namchi, 4 April :
A three-day training programme on House Listing Operations (HLO) for the ensuing Census was successfully conducted at Ravangla Community Hall from 2nd April to 4th April 2026.
A total of 50 participants, comprising Supervisors and Enumerators, attended the training programme.
The training was imparted by the Assistant Directors and PRI functionaries under the overall supervision of the Charge Officer, SDM Shri Saran D. Kalikotey, and the Additional Charge Officer, BDO Ravangla Shri B. B. Tamang.
A representative from the Directorate of Census Operations, Sikkim was also present during the training as an Observer, ensuring adherence to prescribed guidelines and standards.
The sessions covered detailed aspects of enumeration procedures, use of prescribed formats, roles and responsibilities of Supervisors and Enumerators, and the legal provisions under the Census framework. Special emphasis was laid on maintaining accuracy, confidentiality of data, and strict compliance with timelines and government instructions.
The participants actively engaged in practical exercises and interactive sessions, enhancing their preparedness for field-level implementation.
It is further informed that the second batch of training will be conducted from 6th April to 8th April 2026 at the same venue.
The House Listing Operations under the Census will be carried out from 15th April to 16th May 2026. All concerned officials have been directed to perform their duties with utmost sincerity, diligence, and accountability. Any negligence or deviation from guidelines will be viewed seriously and may attract appropriate action as per rules.
The successful completion of the training marks a significant step towards ensuring smooth, systematic, and effective conduct of the upcoming Census operations in the subdivision.
