On the auspicious occasion of the 80th Independence Day, 'At Home Ceremony' was organized by Lokbhawan, Sikkim, where the Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, was the chief guest. On this occasion, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang, was present in a dignified manner.
The ceremony was attended by the Hon'ble Ministers, Judges of the High Court, senior officials of the Central and State Governments, GOSs of 17th and 27th Mountain Division, personalities who have received state and national awards, representatives of various organizations and institutions, progressive farmers, artisans, and many other distinguished guests.
The program began with a welcome address by Shri Jitendra Singh Raje, Secretary of Rajbhavan, in which he warmly welcomed all the guests.
On this occasion, two books were released, which included a compilation of speeches, addresses, and thoughts given by the Honorable Governor on various occasions as a book titled "Thoughts and Vision". This work reflects the Honorable Governor's thoughts and perspective on issues such as nation-building, education, youth, culture, social issues, development, and public service. The chief editor of the book and the Honorable Governor's senior private secretary, Shri Ratish Chaturvedi, have played a significant role in shaping this compilation with their unwavering commitment and editorial vision.
On this occasion, the biography titled "Chhatr" was also released. The author, Shri Giridhari Lal Meena, who is currently working as Joint Secretary in the Urban Development Department, has sensitively presented his father's life struggles and inspiring journey in this book. "Chhatr" is not just a biography of a father, but a poignant tale of the struggles, dreams, and aspirations of a farming family.
In addition to this, the artists of the Department of Music at Sikkim University presented patriotic songs in a soulful manner. In addition, the young artists of Lokbhawan Sikkim presented a theme on Developed India @2047, which touched everyone's heart.
A high tea was organized by the Raj Bhavan in honor of the guests, which everyone enjoyed together.
