Smt. Sushma Tamang, a teacher from Sikkim state, who was awarded the National Teacher Award 2026, paid a courtesy call to the Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, at Lokbhawan today.
During this courtesy call, the Governor congratulated Smt. Sushma Tamang, a chemistry teacher at PM Rajkiya Uchchar High School, Dealing, on receiving the National Teacher Award 2026. The award was given to her by the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, on the occasion of Teachers' Day on 5th September in New Delhi. Smt. Tamang informed the Governor that 48 selected teachers have been awarded the National Teacher Award 2026 by the Hon'ble President of India.
The Governor, while describing this prestigious honor as a moment of pride for Sikkim, wished her good luck and expressed hope that she would continue to shape the future of the youth through education and moral values.
