Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur made a dignified presence at the grand ceremony held at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok on the occasion of 77th Republic Day today.
During this time Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang was also present.
During the program, the Hon'ble Governor hoisted the national flag, the national salute was given and the spirit of patriotism flooded throughout the atmosphere with the echo of the national anthem.
The Governor inspected the parade. The parade included pieces from ITBP, SSB, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim Armed Police, India Reserve Battalion, Sikkim Police (Male & Female), Forest Department, Home Guards, NCC and Police Band.
In his address the Hon'ble Governor reiterated the core sense of the Constitution, democratic values and commitment to national unity. He urged the Sikkim residents to jointly elevate the state and nation to new heights of progress and contribute in realizing the dreams of developed India with "Golden, prosperous and Samarth Sikkim". During this time he also highlighted the state's developmental plans and projects under action and congratulated all the award recipients.
In addition to this, the award and medal distribution was concluded, including March Past Trophy, Best Lifeguard Medal, Sikkim State Service Award, War Heroes Honor, Home Ministry's communication and appreciation letters.
Three flavors premium dark chocolate and "Development Survey-2022" report was also released towards innovations in the program.
In today's program, Hon'ble Governor and Hon'ble Chief Minister observed the exhibition of army equipment along with the public.
Gatka, Army Martial Arts Routine and Kalaripayattu and Flickr Dance Academy's exciting presentations mesmerized the audience at the cultural program organized by the Department of Culture.
On this occasion, there was presence of Sikkim government's council of ministers, legislators, advisors, chairman, director of police including senior officers, staff and large number of people present.
