Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr. Prem Singh Tamang paid a courtesy visit to Hon'ble Governor Mr. Om Prakash Mathur at Lokbhavan today. The main centre of this meeting was the upcoming Sikkim Yatra of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji on 27-28 April, 2026, which is being held on the occasion of the closing ceremony of the 50th Foundation Day of Sikkim.
During the meeting, Hon'ble Chief Minister discussed with the Governor on various aspects related to Hon'ble Prime Minister's visit. Chief Minister reviewed the current situation of preparations for scheduled programs to be held at Lokbhavan and Paljor Stadium and informed the Hon'ble Governor that there is huge enthusiasm among the people of Sikkim regarding the arrival of Hon'ble Prime Minister. He assured that everything possible efforts are being made by the state government at every level to ensure the grand success of this historic event.
During the discussion, the Hon'ble Governor stressed that this visit of Hon'ble Prime Minister will be an extremely effective medium of presenting Sikkim's developmental achievements and its unique cultural identity on the global stage.
