Sikkim Participates in 3rd NITI Regional Dialogue in Tripura

The 3rd NITI Regional Dialogue under the State Support Mission (SSM) was organisedby NITI Aayogat Hotel Polo Tower, Agartala, Tripuraon 3rd February, 2026for 14 Easternand North Eastern States/UTs in collaboration with the Tripura Institution for Transformation (TIFT).

The programme was graced by Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the significance of cooperative federalism, inter-state collaboration, and shared learning as critical drivers for accelerating development outcomes across the country. The inaugural session was also addressed by the Chief Secretary Tripura, Vice Chairman, SETU Aayog Uttarakhand, Additional Secretary NITI Aayog, CEO TIFT etc.

Representing the Government of Sikkim, Shri M.T. Sherpa, IAS Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Planning & Development Department accompanied by Ms. Anamika Sharma, Sector Expert (Agriculture, Horticulture & Allied Sectors), and Mr. Rosen Kaphlay, Sector Expert (Economics & Finance) SIT, SSM attended and participated and actively engaged in thematic discussions on sectoral transformation, performance monitoring, institutional strengthening, and evidence-based planning frameworks under the State Support Mission.

The dialogue also witnessed the participation of key international and multilateral development partners such as JICA, World Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, ADB as well as North Eastern Council reflecting strong global collaboration in India’s developmental journey.

The dialogue served as an important platform for Eastern and North Eastern States and Union Territories to deliberate on strategies for transformational growth, improved governance, and enhanced development performance aiming at Viksit Bharat@2047.
