To strengthen local governance and build administrative capacity, the newly formed 12-Nambu Sindrabung Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) conducted a day-long exposure-cum-study visit to 21-Turung Mamring GPU under Namchi District on January12.
As 12-Nambu Sindrabung is in its inaugural term with a fresh team of Panchayat members and staff, the visit aimed at learning established administrative systems. The delegation, accompanied by the Assistant Director, focused on 21-Turung Mamring GPU’s success in generating Own Source Revenue (OSR) and its effective utilization for community assets, including the maintenance of local temples and tourism spots.
The visiting team studied 21-Turung Mamring GPU’s well-settled infrastructure and their systematic record-keeping, specifically the succession lists of Panchayat Presidents, Secretaries, and members.
"Since our GPU is newly established, this visit was essential for our first batch of leadership and staff to understand how to run a GPU smoothly. The infrastructure and OSR models at 21-Turung Mamring GPU provide a roadmap for our own development," stated the Panchayat President from 12-Nambu Sindrabung GPU.
The visit concluded with a formal exchange of ideas, where 12-Nambu Sindrabung GPU presented a Letter of Appreciation to the 21-Turung Mamring GPU team for their hospitality and mentorship in local self-governance.
