Urban Development Department Conducts Awareness Program at Govt. Sec. School Hathidunga"

The Urban Development Department (UDD), Soreng District, successfully organized a “One Day School Visit” awareness program at Government Secondary School, Hathidunga, on Tuesday.
The program was led by the Bazaar Officer, Mrs. Marygold Lucksom, along with her team. The department extended heartfelt gratitude to the School Incharge, Shri Sonam Younda Bhutia, Academic Incharge Shri Nima Tshering Lepcha, and the entire school family for their warm hospitality and active support in making the event a success.
Addressing the gathering, the Bazaar Officer highlighted the key roles and responsibilities of the Urban Development Department, focusing on areas such as issuance of trade licenses, maintenance of sanitation, urban beautification initiatives, and the significance of the upcoming Nagar Panchayat elections.
A major portion of the session was dedicated to spreading awareness on solid waste management. Students were sensitized about proper waste segregation, cleanliness practices, and the importance of community participation in maintaining a sustainable environment.
The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, making the initiative both informative and engaging.
