Visit to Polok Hot Spring to Assess Law & Order, Cleanliness and Public Facilities
Namchi, 6 January:
The Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ravangla Shri Saran Kalikotey along with Shri B.B. Tamang BDO Ravangla, Shri Roshan Rai SDPO Ravangla and Shri B.B. Rai (Sr. PS) conducted a visit to Polok Hot Spring on 06.01.2026 to assess the overall arrangements at the site.
During the visit, the team reviewed the law and order situation, cleanliness and sanitation, waste management system, crowd management, availability of basic amenities,and public safety measures for visitors.
SDM Ravangla Shri Saran Kalikotey issued the following directions, keeping in view the objectives of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan:
1.Strict maintenance of cleanliness, regular sanitation drives and Disater management measures.
2. Proper waste segregation and prohibition of littering and single-use plastic
3. Regular maintenance of toilets, bathing structures and changing areas
4. Availability of safe drinking water and clean surroundings
5. Identification of risky/slippery areas and installation of cautionary signages
6. Prevention of encroachments
7. Display of awareness boards on cleanliness and dos & don’ts for visitors.
The SDPO Ravangla Shri Roshan Rai reviewed law and order arrangements and directed enhanced patrolling, proper crowd control during peak hours, regulation of traffic ,strict action against unlawful activities, establishment of a visitor help desk and maintenance of constant vigilance.
The officers also interacted with local commitee / stakeholders and urged their cooperation in maintaining cleanliness, discipline, and safety at Polok Hot Spring.
The administration reiterated its commitment towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, environmental conservation, and promotion of responsible eco-tourism.
