The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim, celebrated the 16th National Voters' Day on 25th January, 2026 at the Conference Hall, DAC, Gangtok.
With the theme "MY INDIA MY VOTE". District Level Programmes were also conducted at the remaining five district headquarters and across 572 Polling Stations throughout the State. The State Level function, organized in collaboration with the Office of the District Election Officer, Gangtok, witnessed the participation of BLOs and voters from 49 urban polling stations.
Newly enrolled voters were facilitated with their Electors Photo Identity Cards (EPICs),
and a video message from the Election Commissioner was screened. The Chief
Guest, Shri Jitendra Singh Raje, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, UDD,
Government of Sikkim, distributed awards to the Best BLOs from all six districts. The National Voters' Day Pledge was administered during the programme and across all Government offices on the same day.
Representatives from political parties, State Icon, District Icon, NGO (Sikkim Viklang Sahyog Samiti) and PWD shelter home (special school for children with disabilities) participated in the programme.
The event was a successful initiative, receiving positive feedback and wide coverage from local media and social media platforms, with an aim to strengthen electoral awareness, especially among young voters.
