Gyalshing district conducts Public Outreach Programme on the topics of the New Criminal Laws and Cyber Frauds

A Public Outreach Programme was conducted today at the Conference Hall of Gyalshing Police Station on the topics of the New Criminal Laws and Cyber Frauds!
The programme was attended by Councillors, Gyalshing Nagar Panchayat, Panchayats, local public, members of Business Community and local drivers!
Resource persons from the Police, Shri Tshering Sherpa, SPS, SP/Gyalshing, SDPO/Gyalshing, SHO/Gyalshing, PI Junee Rai briefed the participants on the salient features of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), highlighting the key changes from the erstwhile criminal laws!
The session also covered emerging threats of cyber frauds(Techie Panda) including online financial scams, identity theft, sextortion, and deepfake-related frauds! Participants were sensitized on precautionary measures, reporting mechanisms, and the role of Cyber Crime Helpline 1930!
An interactive session followed, where queries from participants were addressed! Awareness videos were also shared for wider dissemination!
The programme concluded with an appeal to the public to remain vigilant and to extend cooperation to the Police in ensuring a safe and secure society!!
