FROM DREAMS TO DOORKEYS: 50 FAMILIES IN BAC YANGANG RECEIVE THE KEYS TO THEIR NEW HOMES UNDER SGAY THIS DASAIN
Yangang, 16 October :This Dasain, a festival that symbolises happiness, prosperity, and new beginnings, will bring a special reason to celebrate for 50 families in the Yangang area. For these families, the festive season will be more than a time for celebration; it will mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives as they receive the keys to their new homes under the Sikkim Garib Awas Yojana (SGAY).
The Block Administrative Centre (BAC), Yangang, is organising an inauguration programme for 50 houses constructed under SGAY, along with the distribution of house keys to the beneficiaries. The initiative reflects the Government of Sikkim’s continued commitment to supporting economically weaker families and helping them move towards a more secure, dignified, and comfortable life.
Under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), and the guidance of the Hon’ble Area MLA-cum-Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, the initiative highlights the importance of people-centred governance and the commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach deserving households at the grassroots level.
For a family, a house is much more than four walls and a roof. It is a place where children grow up, families share their happiness and sorrows, and dreams are nurtured for a better future. The distribution of house keys represents the fulfilment of a long-awaited hope for the beneficiary families, offering them the comfort of having a place they can truly call their own.
The occasion becomes even more meaningful as the families receive this precious gift during Dasain, when homes are filled with prayers, blessings, and the warmth of family reunions. The keys to a new home will not only open doors but will also bring renewed hope, confidence, and a sense of security to the families beginning this new journey.
The programme will be graced by Hon’ble Area MLA-cum-Deputy Speaker Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, ADC Ravangla Shri D.P. Dahal, OSD to the Area MLA Smt. Denkila Bhutia, SDM Yangang Shri K.L. Dahal, BDO Yangang Smt. Needay Bhutia, CLC President Shri Tengayla Namkha Bhutia, Panchayat Presidents and Members, CLC executives, departmental heads, BAC staff, and the 50 SGAY beneficiaries.
The initiative stands as a meaningful step towards strengthening the welfare and well-being of local communities, ensuring that deserving families have the opportunity to live with dignity and security. It also reflects the spirit of development that goes beyond infrastructure, touching the lives of ordinary people and bringing smiles to families who look forward to a brighter tomorrow.
As the 50 families prepare to step into their new homes this Dasain, the occasion will serve as a reminder that the true meaning of development lies in bringing happiness to people's lives, fulfilling their hopes, and creating opportunities for a better future.
Fifty houses. Fifty families. Fifty new beginnings. This Dasain, the gift of a home will bring not only shelter but also hope, dignity, happiness, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
Furthermore, the 14 beneficiaries who could not receive their assistance during the earlier distribution of the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana (Aama Yojana) were also provided with their benefits today. The distribution ensured that the remaining beneficiaries received their entitled assistance, bringing relief and happiness to the families during the festive occasion of Dasain.
