Namchi, 9 January: It was my honour to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Dojak EPCS Church as the Chief Guest. The occasion was marked by a spirit of faith, unity and collective commitment, reflecting the strong values and harmony of the Christian community.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to The Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay for his continued guidance and support. The successful completion of the church construction under the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Grant (CMDG) is a testament to his inclusive vision and commitment towards supporting all communities. His encouragement has played a vital role in making this sacred project a reality.
The programme was graced by the presence of several respected church leaders and dignitaries, including Rev. Bikash Rai, CEC Chairman; Rev. Bijay Chettri, Moderator, CEPCS; Rev. P. D. Tamang, Presbyter In-charge, Rabong Presbytery; Elder Patrus Gurung; Rev. D. S. Rai and Rev. S. D. Lepcha. I also extend my appreciation to Shri Kishor Dungmali, President, All Sikkim Christian Organization and Shri C. L. Gurung, Advisor, Food Processing Industries, for their presence and encouragement.
I am equally thankful to the Zilla Panchayat Members and Gram Panchayat Members of Rankey–Sangmoo and Ravang–Khop GPU for their support and participation in making the programme meaningful.
On this special occasion, the Land Donor of the Church, Shri Ram Bahadur Rai (David Rai), was felicitated in recognition of his generous and selfless contribution. His noble gesture stands as a true example of service and dedication towards the community.
I congratulate the church members and organizers on the successful inauguration of the Dojak EPCS Church and wish that this sacred place continues to serve as a centre of faith, peace and social harmony for generations to come.
