Friday Field Day Mission Marks 50th Episode in Pakyong

Pakyong, September 13: The Friday Field Day Mission under the Connect Earth Programme completed its 50th episode in Pakyong District. Initiated by the Rural Development Department, the programme has converted more than 300 acres of barren and fallow land into cultivable fields within one year, in coordination with Panchayats and line departments.

The Connect Earth Programme aims to create balance among the five natural elements—Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space—linking environmental sustainability with human welfare. The Friday Field Day is one component of this programme.

On the occasion, Panchayat President, Ms Ranju Poudyali, along with Panchayat members of Chalamthang Pacheykhani GPU and their staff, visited the Connect Earth Sweat Contribution Centre at Samsing, Pakyong, and expressed support for the initiative.

The Office also acknowledged the contribution and support of Additional Director, Agriculture & Horticulture; Mr Tshering Chophel Bhutia, Deputy Directors Agriculture, Mrs Sangita Basnet, Mrs Rebecca Gurung and Mr JN Sharma, along with staff members.

The Additional District Collector (Dev) Office, Pakyong District, acknowledged contributions from departments, Panchayats, and individuals toward the continuation of the Friday Field Day Mission.
