The State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB), Karfectar, under the Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, actively participated in the two-day School Fest “AURA” held on 10th & 11th December 2025 at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Jorethang.

SICB set up a range of interactive stalls showcasing hands-on learning and practical skills:

• Registration-cum-Mobilisation Desk

• Food Stall

• Bamboo Craft Stall

• Beauty & Wellness Zone featuring Grooming, Makeup, Hair Dressing, Nail Art, Face Art and other exciting activities

A Sit and Draw Competition was organised as part of the event, and the winners were awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Cash Prizes.

One of the major highlights of the fest was the formal inauguration of the Skill Development Club at PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School.

During the ceremony, the official logo of the Skill Development Club was formally launched in the presence of all dignitaries, marking a proud milestone for the institution and the school community.

The establishment of the Skill Development Club aims to introduce students to structured, interest-based, and practical learning experiences. SICB looks forward to setting up similar clubs across schools in Sikkim as part of its mission to build a skilled, confident, and future-ready youth population.

The launch of the Skill Development Club marks a significant milestone in promoting practical skill learning among students. It aims to inspire young learners to explore their interests, develop their abilities, and prepare themselves for future opportunities.

SICB looks forward to establishing similar collaborations with schools across Sikkim to strengthen the skill development ecosystem and empower the youth of the State.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest of the day,

Hon’ble Minister, Urban Development Department & Food and Civil Supplies Department, Shri Bhoj Raj Rai.

The Guest of Honour was

Hon’ble MLA-cum-Advisor, Transport and Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, Shri Madan Cintury.

The program also witnessed the gracious presence of

Press Secretary to HCM, Shri Yougan Tamang,

SBS Advisor, Shri Biren Chandra Rai,

and many other Honourable Guests and Dignitaries.

Their presence added immense value, encouragement, and recognition to the initiative.
