Sports and Youth Affairs Department Soreng District extends Heartiest Congratulations to Miss Soney Subba
The Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Soreng District, proudly congratulates Miss Soneya Subba on winning the Bronze Medal at the 5th National U-15 Sub-Junior Boys and Girls Boxing Championship 2026, held from 19th to 29th June 2026 at Jalandhar, Punjab.
A proud product of the Khelo India Centre (KIC), Soreng under the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Soreng District, Soneya received her basic boxing training for nearly two years under the guidance of Mr. Suman Lepcha before being selected to the Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE), Gangtok in March 2026, where she continued her advanced training under Mrs. Sunita Chettri.
Representing Sikkim under the banner of the Sikkim Amatuer Boxing Association, Miss Soneya Subba, daughter of Shri Mangal Subba and Smt. Sushma Chettri of Soreng, brought immense pride to the State by securing the Bronze Medal in the 30–33 kg weight category.
The Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Soreng District, also extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Sunita Chettri, Mr. Suman Lepcha, Mr. Pravin Limboo, Ms. Lasuri Limboo, the Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association, the KISCE technical team, her parents, and all her well-wishers for their unwavering support and dedication.
