Dr. Mangal Jit Rai, Chairman of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN), today met Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, IAS, Secretary and Shri Siddharth Jain, IAS, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi.
During the meeting, Dr. Rai discussed the proposed North East Cooperative Conference to be organized by SICUN, Sikkim, towards the end of June 2026. He briefed the officials on the conference's objectives, which include bringing together cooperative leaders, policymakers and stakeholders from all eight North Eastern States to deliberate on cooperative governance, capacity building, digital transformation, financial inclusion and the vision of "Sahkar Se Samriddhi.”
Dr. Rai also submitted a memorandum seeking the early release of the approved financial assistance under the Cooperative Education Fund (CEF) for the successful organization of the conference.
On behalf of SICUN, Dr. Rai extended a formal invitation to the Secretary and Additional Secretary to grace the conference. The officials appreciated SICUN's efforts in strengthening the cooperative movement and assured their support and guidance for the initiative.
