The State level Inter School Band Competition 2026 was held at Tashi Namgyal Academy (TNA), Gangtok under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha, Education Department.
The programme was graced by Shri A. D. Chhetri, Director, Samagra Shiksha as a Chief Guest and also attended by Director, CM Modal School Assam Linzey, Principal TNA, Officials and Escort teachers of different teams and Staff of Samagra Shiksha, Education Department.
The event began with the welcome note-cum- brief background about the State Level Inter School Band Competition by the Nodal Officer Shri Pempa Tshering Lepcha, Deputy Director (SS) as an annual feature of Samagra Shiksha. There were 07 (Seven) Schools who have participated in the event across the state. The Jury members for the event were Ms. Sangita Gurung, Women Naik, State Reserve Lines, Palzor Stadium, Gangtok and Mr.Abner Darnal, Artist (Music) from Culture Department, Mannan Kendra, Govt.of Sikkim.
The following were declared winners in the competition as under:-
1. Tashi Namgyal Academy, Gangtok – 1st Position (Pipe band, Boys).
2. Chief Minister’s Model School Assam Linzey – 1st Position (Pipe band, Girls).
3. PM SHRI Pelling Sr.Sec.School – 1st Position (Brass, Boys).
Today’s winning team at the State Level will be representing at Zonal Level and National Level when the Ministry of Education, Government of India announces the timeline for the competition.
The Chief Guest of the event in his address congratulated all the winning teams and encouraged all the participating teams for their unique performance and further urged all of them to cater their talents and showcase to the audience to the next level.
Lastly, the programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Shri Laxuman Adhikari, Assistant Director, Samagra Shiksha, Education Department and the programme was anchored by Shri Sushil Tamang, Deputy Director, Samagra Shiksha
