Resource Recovery Centre, Yuksam Intensifies Community Engagement for Sustainable Waste ManagementGyalshing, June 23: Recognising that effective waste management extends beyond disposal and requires collective responsibility across production, consumption and disposal systems, the Resource Recovery Centre (RRC), Yuksam, has launched a series of community engagement initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable waste management practices.
The RRC has been conducting Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities, along with volunteer-driven awareness programmes, to encourage waste segregation at source among residents and stakeholders.
The initiative seeks to foster a sense of environmental responsibility and bring about positive behavioural change within the community by promoting scientific waste management practices and sustainable lifestyles.
Through regular outreach activities, awareness campaigns and community participation programmes, the RRC team is working towards enhancing public understanding of the importance of waste segregation, resource recovery and environmental conservation.
The programme is being spearheaded by the In-charge of the RRC, Yuksam, Mr Tseten Tashi Bhutia, along with dedicated RRC staff and volunteers, whose collective efforts are contributing towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Yuksam.
The Resource Recovery Centre has appealed to all residents to actively participate in waste segregation at source and adopt responsible waste management practices to safeguard the environment for future generations
