On the occasion of Kargil Victory Day, the Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, today paid homage to the brave heroes of the Kargil war and the martyrs of the Indian Army who sacrificed their lives to protect the borders of the country by offering a wreath (Wreath Laying) at the 'Sikkim Prerna Sthal' located in Bardang.
During this event, the Hon'ble Governor, along with the Black Cat Division's GOC Major General Ashish Negi, and the Indian Army personnel present, observed a moment of silence to remember the courage, patriotism, and supreme sacrifice shown by the Indian soldiers in defending the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
After the tribute program, the Hon'ble Governor inspected various ongoing development works in the Prerna Sthal complex. He reviewed the progress of the work with the officials and emphasized the need to complete all construction works in accordance with the dignity of this memorial with high quality on time. In addition, the Governor boosted the morale of the Indian Army jawans present there and distributed sweets.
