A function was held today at Jaynarayan Vyas University (JNVU) campus, Jodhpur, in which Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur attended as Chief Guest.

On this prestigious occasion, the 8.5 feet tall Panchadhatu statue of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, the founder of Jaswant College was unveiled by the Honorable Governor.

This statue has been established under JNUV alumni president Mr. Arvind Singh Bhati and current Student Committee's "Akhar-Ujas" campaign, with the cooperation of Enlightened Bhamashahs.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Guest Hon'ble Governor said that this statue of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II is not just a statue, but it is a living inspiration of Marwad's glorious history, education and good governance.

Hon'ble Governor mentioned the visionary views of the successful Prime Minister of the country Mr. Narendra Modi ji said that the young generation will have to connect with this 'Akhar-Ujas' (light of knowledge) to fulfill the resolution of 'Developed India @2047'. He called on the youth to play their active participation in nation building.

In this program, former Maharaja of Marwad Mr. Gaj Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Satish Punian, senior leader Mr. Rajendra Rathore, MLA Mr. Babu Singh Rathore, Mr. Atul Bhansali including many dignitaries, public representatives and guests were present.

Thousands of students, academics, enlightened and general public had a huge presence in the university campus during the unveiling ceremony.
