Honorable Governor Mr. Om Prakash Mathur Dr. Participated as chief guest in assembly campus on 135th birth anniversary of Bhimrao Ambedkar

Bharat Ratna Dr. in Sikkim Assembly premises today. 135th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhimrao Ambedkar was organized, Chief Guest of the program was Hon'ble Governor of Sikkim Mr. Om Prakash Mathur, Hon'ble Chief Minister Mr. Prem Singh Tamang present as special guest.

The program was launched with the cooperation of Urban Development Department of Kotak Mahindra Bank under the CSR initiative of Kotak Mahindra Bank, the modern ambulances equipped with two advanced life saving machines. These ambulances were dedicated to STNM Hospital, a key step towards further strengthening state health services.

On this occasion, Kotak Mahindra Bank has proposed to cooperate in the overall development of 5 government schools through its CSR funding. Out of these 2 schools have been adopted by the Honorable Governor himself.

After this, all the people present including the Honorable Governor, Dr. Offered his tribute to Bhimrao Ambedkar's statue by offering flowers.

Hon'ble Governor in his address Dr. Emphasizing Ambedkar's ideals, social justice, equality, education and empowerment, said "Dr. Ambedkar's dream is of a society where every person gets an equal opportunity. These efforts being made in the field of education, health and social harmony are heading in that direction. Everyone has to work together so no class gets left behind. ”

Hon'ble Governor said that true tribute to Baba Saheb's legacy can only be paid when we remain committed to fairness, respect diversity and service to society.

On this occasion Hon'ble Governor has called on all to strengthen the spirit of justice, equality and fraternity and make the ideals of the Constitution part of every Indian's life and move forward towards an equal, just and inclusive society.

Four prominent personalities of the society were honoured for their remarkable contributions in today's program, among them Hon'ble MLA of West Pandam Region Mr. L. B. Das, Hon'ble MLA of Zoom Salghari Region Mr. Madan Sinchuri, Assistant Chief Secretary of State Mr. R in Empowerment of Scheduled Castes. Mrs. Paru Ruchal honored first female Superintendent of Police (Pakyong District) of Telang, and Scheduled Caste Community.

In this order, meritorious students who got outstanding marks in 10th and 12th class of the scheduled castes were also honored.

All Sikkim Scheduled Welfare Association's annual souvenir "Bhim Chetna" was released during the program. This monument is an important medium for social harmony, equality, justice and advancing the thoughts of Babasaheb.
