Yangang, July 21: A book titled ‘Anuvhutiko Chyabrung, a collection of Nepali poems’ authored by Shri Bal Muringla, was released at a programme held today at the office of the Limboo Department, Sikkim University, Yangang.
This is the first book in the Nepali language authored by a faculty member of the Department of Limboo, marking a historic moment for the department.
The function was chaired by Prof. Kabita Lama, a renowned and established Nepali writer. Besides students and faculty members of the department, the programme was attended by Dr. Dewchandra Subba as the special guest and Shri Yogesh Subba, research scholar from the Department of Nepali.
This publication is the twelfth book authored by Shri Bal Muringla. In addition to contributing several articles to local and national newspapers and journals, he has published eleven books—three in Nepali, seven in Limboo and one in English. The Limboo folktales collected and compiled by him have also been translated into English.
In her address, Prof. Kabita Lama applauded the poems and remarked that the title of the book differs in several ways from traditional literary titles. Dr. Dewchandra Subba, the special guest, highlighted the literary approach and thematic significance of the book
