MLA Mabeybung-Dentam inaugurates New Vertical Extension of Lungzik Government JHS Along with Annual Day Celebration
Gyalshing, 16 December:
The newly constructed two-room vertical extension building of Government Junior High School, Lungzik, located in the Maneybong–Dentam area of Gyalshing district, was formally inaugurated,today.
Mr Sudesh Kumar Subba, MLA-Cum-Advisor, Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation graced the occasion as the Chief guest.
The event witnessed the special presence of Zilla Up Adhakshya Ms Anita Rai, Joint Director of Education Mr Rajesh Thapa, Deputy Director Ms Saroja Thapa, Assistant Education Officer Mr Mahadev Bhandari, School Headmaster Mr DB Limboo, SMC President Mr CS Limboo, SMCs,along with teachers, parents, and representatives from the local community.
Welcoming the guests, Headmaster Mr DB Limboo presented the Annual School Report, highlighting the school’s academic achievements, infrastructural development, and future plans.
The programme featured a series of vibrant cultural performances, including the State Anthem rendered by students and teachers, rhymes by pre-primary students, Nepali, Limboo, and Hindi dances, a skit, and a Zumba dance, all of which captivated the audience. An exhibition of stalls prepared by students was also visited during the event by the Chief guest and esteemed guests.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr Subba praised the school’s educational progress and emphasised the crucial role of education in overall regional development. He shared his views on road connectivity, safe drinking water, healthcare, security, and substance abuse prevention, stressing the importance of strong collaboration between schools and the community to build a better future.
Joint Director Mr Rajesh Thapa also spoke on the current education system and its evolving challenges. During the programme, several dignitaries were felicitated, and students were honoured with mementoes in recognition of their achievements.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by SMC President Mr CS Limboo.
