Sikkim Participates in AquaEx NorthEast 2026 at Guwahati
Guwahati: The Fisheries Department, Government of Sikkim, participated in AquaEx NorthEast 2026, held on 12th and 13th June 2026 at the Maniram Dewan Trade Centre (MTDC), Guwahati, Assam. The event brought together fisheries professionals, policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders from across the North Eastern Region to discuss emerging opportunities and advancements in fisheries and aquaculture.
The Sikkim delegation comprised Mr. Naresh Sunar, Assistant Director, Fisheries Department; Mr Kanishka Sharma, Head Fisheries guard, Fisheries Department Mr. Aarpan Gurung and Mr. Sweden Limboo, progressive trout fish farmers from Sikkim.
The participation provided an excellent platform for the delegation to interact with key stakeholders from across the fisheries value chain, facilitating knowledge exchange and discussions on innovative technologies, sustainable aquaculture practices, fish health management, entrepreneurship development, and market opportunities. The event also enabled the participants to explore potential collaborations and future partnerships aimed at strengthening fisheries development, capacity building, and livelihood enhancement in the state.
