Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp 2026 Successfully Concludes in Gyalshing District

The Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC) 2026 was successfully conducted across Government schools under Gyalshing District from 19th June to 26th June 2026, with enthusiastic participation from students and teachers. This year’s camp also introduced Indian Sign Language (ISL) as a key component, promoting inclusive and accessible language learning.
The Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp is a nationwide initiative of the Ministry of Education aimed at promoting multilingual learning and fostering appreciation for India’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity in line with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
In collaboration with SCERT, Sikkim, the inclusion of Indian Sign Language (ISL) sought to encourage students to learn an additional Indian language through engaging, activity-based learning while promoting inclusivity, national integration, and cultural understanding.
Throughout the week-long camp, students actively participated in a variety of interactive activities, including greetings and everyday conversations in ISL, storytelling, songs, games, role plays, vocabulary-building exercises, language quizzes, art, music, dance, cultural exchange programmes, and sessions highlighting local food, traditions, geography, and heritage. An introductory module on Indian Sign Language also helped raise awareness about inclusive education and communication.
Special Educators posted in various Government schools across Gyalshing District played a significant role in making the camp inclusive and accessible for all learners, particularly students with disabilities. Their active participation and guidance ensured that every student had the opportunity to engage meaningfully in the learning activities.
The successful completion of the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp 2026 reflects the commitment of the Education Department, school authorities, teachers, Special Educators, and students towards promoting cultural harmony among young learners.
