Press Release from Education Department
The State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 was successfully conducted on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at two centers:
PM Shri Girls SSS School in Namchi and PM Shri Sir T.N. SSS School in Gangtok. The examination saw a high attendance rate, reflecting strong candidate interest in the teaching profession.
Out of 2,466 registered candidates across all categories, 2,380 were present, resulting in an overall attendance rate of approximately 96.51%. The overall absent percentage was 3.49%. The smooth and fair conduct of the examination was ensured through the collaborative efforts of the supervisory teams, which included departmental observers and officials from other government departments.
A special note of gratitude is extended to the CEO of Namchi, the principals of both PM Shri Girls SSS School and PM Shri Sir T.N. SSS School, and the respective examination committees for their unwavering support. The successful introduction of Namchi as a new center this year would not have been possible without their dedicated efforts.
An innovative new system has been introduced this year to enhance transparency and efficiency. The answer key will be published soon, and candidates will have a three-day window to challenge it by scanning a unique QR code provided in their question paper. This forward-thinking approach is expected to streamline the post-examination process.
