Report on Visit to Landslide-Affected Area at Singlitam
Location: Singlitam, Rimbi–Timbrung GPU, Yuksam–Tashiding Constituency

On 28 September 2026, a team of Veterinary Officers and staff from the District Veterinary Hospital, Gyalshing, Darap PVCC, and Tathang PVCC visited the landslide-affected area of Singlitam under Rimbi–Timbrum GPU, Yuksam–Tashiding Constituency, to assess the condition of livestock and poultry affected by the disaster.
The landslide caused extensive damage to the area, affecting approximately 35 households and compelling the entire population to relocate to safer locations. Many of the affected households were engaged in livestock and poultry rearing. Fortunately, no animal casualties were reported, as the animals had been rescued and shifted to nearby safe areas before further damage occurred. However, the livestock shelters and poultry sheds were completely washed away by the landslide.
At present, a total of 28 livestock and 150 poultry birds are being kept in the designated safe/rescue areas. During the visit, the veterinary team assessed the health condition of the rescued animals and were found to be apparently healthy. Deworming medication and mineral mixtures were distributed, and medical treatment was provided to animals that had sustained injuries.
The veterinary team also interacted with the affected livestock owners and assured them of continued veterinary monitoring and necessary support for the rescued animals until the affected families are able to establish suitable shelters and resume normal livestock-rearing activities.
