COORDINATION MEETING AND FAREWELL PROGRAMME HELD ON 29th JUNE 2026 AT DISTRICT VETERINARY POLYCLINIC, NAMCHI

Namchi, 30 June : A coordination meeting followed by a farewell programme was successfully conducted on 29th June 2026 at the District Veterinary Polyclinic, Namchi, under the AHVS Namchi. The programme was graced by the presence of Dr. Narad Cintury, Director-cum-South District Coordinator, AH & VS, as the Chief Guest, under the guidance of Dr. Latta Rai, Additional Director.

The first session commenced with a coordination meeting attended by Veterinary Officers, officials and staffs from various parts of the district.

The meeting focused on reviewing the current status, achievements, challenges, future plans, and grievances of different departmental units.

Various presentations were delivered on the District Profile, Accounts Section, Nandugaon Poultry Farm, Bermoik Poultry Farm, Rateypani Goat Farm, and Melli Check Post, highlighting their present functioning, progress, future plans, and challenges encountered during field-level implementation.

The meeting was addressed by Dr. Latta Rai, Additional Director, who highlighted the major issues and grievances faced by the district. These concerns were discussed with Dr. Narad Cintury, Director cum district coordinator who provided valuable guidance and assured necessary support and assistance in addressing the issues for further strengthening departmental activities.

The coordination meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the guidance and contributions of all officials and participants.

The second session of the programme was dedicated to a farewell and felicitation ceremony. The department honoured retiring employees in recognition of their dedicated service and valuable contributions throughout their tenure. Garlands and tokens of appreciation were presented to the retired employees as a mark of gratitude and respect for their years of dedicated service.

The retiring employees honoured during the ceremony were Mr. Santa Kumar Pradhan, Retired Assistant Director, Sadam Veterinary Dispensary; Mr. Karmadhan Tamang, Retired Assistant Director, Tokal Bermiok Veterinary Hospital; Mr. Sonam Wangdi Bhutia, Retired Assistant Director, Maniram Veterinary Dispensary; Mr. Durga Samser Tiwari, Retired Assistant Director, Damthang Veterinary Dispensary; Mrs. Leelawati Rai, Retired Assistant Livestock Inspector; and Mr. James Singh Lepcha, Retired Fodder Builder, Sadam Veterinary Dispensary. The families of deceased departmental employees were also felicitated in recognition of the invaluable contributions and services rendered by their loved ones to the department. The deceased employees honoured during the ceremony were Late Palzang Bhutia, Office Assistant, Tinkitam Veterinary Dispensary; Late Suman Rai, Night Guard, Nandugoan State Poultry Farm; and Late Ambika Sharma, Bull Attendant, Tokal Bermiok Veterinary Hospital.

Veterinary Officers who had been transferred from the district were also bid farewell and acknowledged for their valuable services and contributions during their tenure in South District. The programme further included the welcoming of newly appointed Veterinary Officers to the district.

The event concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, followed by group photography, lunch, and cultural programmes. The entire programme served as an important occasion for reviewing departmental progress, addressing challenges, acknowledging the contributions of retiring and transferred personnel, and welcoming new members into the service. It strengthened coordination, cooperation, and collective commitment towards the continued growth and development of animal husbandry and veterinary services in South District, Sikkim.
