District Sports Office Holds Coordination Meeting with PETs and PIs

Pakyong, August 08: To strengthen the school sports ecosystem in the district, a coordination meeting between officials of the District Sports Office and Physical Education Teachers (PETs) and Physical Instructors (PIs) was held today at the District Sports Office Complex.

The meeting was chaired by Mr ND Bhutia Joint Director and had presence of Mr Legden Dorjee Bhutia, Deputy Director, Assistant Directors Mr Manoj Gurung, Mr Robert Lepcha, Mr Bharat Lama, and the staff of district office. A total of 32 PETs and Pls from different schools across the district attended the meeting.

The following key agendas were deliberated upon for strengthening the school sports ecosystem.

1. Deliberation on the upcoming School Games at Block and District levels.

2. Implementation of a systematic Talent Identification mechanism in schools from the next academic year.

3. Training and capacity building of technical manpower in the district.

4. Collaborative organization of Annual Block and District -centric Meets.

5. Creating a common platform for timely dissemination of sports- related information and activities.

6. Feedback and suggestion from PETs and Pls regarding promotion of sports in schools.

The Joint Director expressed his sincere gratitude to Shri Narayan Mishra, Chief Education Officer, Pakyong district for facilitating the meeting at short notice.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to foster greater synergy between the Sports and Education departments to nurture sporting talents at grassroots.
