JOINT INSPECTION ON CLINICAL ESTABLISHMENTS CONDUCTED UNDER GANGTOK DISTRICT
A joint inspection of various Clinical Establishments under Gangtok District was conducted in collaboration with Singtam Police and Singtam Municipal Corporation.
The inspection team included the following officials:
• Director-cum-CMO, District Hospital Singtam
• A.D. Sanitation, Health Department
• Under Secretary, Health Department
• Health Educator, District Hospital Singtam
• SMC Councillor
• Bazar Inspector, Singtam Municipal Corporation
• Police Personnel, Singtam Police Station
The team carried out a random inspection of the clinics listed below. The inspection focused on documentation, registration status, bio-medical waste management, infection control practices, and general compliance with the Clinical Establishments Act 2010:

Observations from the visit have been noted and follow-up action will be taken to the concerned establishments.
Directives Issued
• Strict directives on proper bio-medical waste management.
• Air-borne infection control measures to be ensured, including installation and functioning of exhaust fans.
• Registration of employees to be completed as per the Clinical Establishments Act.
• Expired drugs to be identified, segregated, and dispose off properly.
• Cleanliness and hygiene of the establishment to be maintained at all times. 24 hours water supply need to be managed in all the establishment.
• All required documentation must be updated and kept ready for verification.
In the next subsequent visit the team will review the compliance of instructions given on 14/11//2025
