Final Preparations Reviewed for State Level Tamu Lochar Celebration at Karongthang, Yangang
Karongthang, Yangang 25 December:
A final preparations and review meeting for the upcoming State Level Tamu Lochar Celebration 2025 was held today at Karongthang, Yangang. The meeting was chaired by Shri Puran Kumar Gurung (Hon’ble Minister) and Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa (Hon’ble Deputy Speaker).
Also present were Shri Bikash Basnet (Political Secretary to HCM), Shri C.L. Gurung (Advisor, Food Processing Dept & President, Celebration Committee), Shri S.B. Rai (OSD, Agriculture Department), Smt. Denkila Bhutia (OSD to HMLA), Shri Udai Gurung ,Shri Anil Gurung (CLC Youth Convenor), Shri Milan Basnet (Media Coordinator to SKM President), Smt. Pramila Tamang (District Nari VP) and other Tamu Lochar committee members.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of all arrangements was undertaken, including food management, volunteer coordination, Rodhi Ghar preparations, stage management, programme coordination and logistics planning. The final event layout and execution plan were also confirmed.
It is noteworthy that Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang-Golay has consented to grace the occasion on 27th December 2025 at Karongthang, Yangang. The State Level Tamu Lochar Celebration will highlight the rich culture and heritage of the Sikkimese Gurung community, while reinforcing the spirit of communal harmony and unity across Sikkim.
