Three-Day Training Programme on ‘Minimally Processed Vegetables’ concludes
Gangtok, Sept 20: The three-day training programme on 'Minimally Processed Vegetables' jointly organised by College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology (CAEPHT) Ranipool and the Department of Food Processing Industries, Government of Sikkim, concluded successfully on 19/09/2026 with a valedictory function.
The concluding programme was graced by Professor N. S. Chauhan, Dean, CAEPHT, and Dr. Sujata Jena, Professor and Head, Department of Processing and Food Engineering, along with faculty members, trainers and other staff of CAEPHT.
The event was further honoured by the presence of Smt. Jyotsna M. Karthak, Secretary, Department of Food Processing Industries (DoFPI), Government of Sikkim; Ms. Navita Pradhan, Joint Secretary, DoFPI; and Smt. Rashmi Kapil, Under Secretary, DoFPI. Representing the PMFME Scheme, Department of Food Processing Industries, Government of Sikkim, were Mr. Bibek Sharma, Marketing Manager, and District Level Coordinators Mr. Sajal Tamang and Mr. Navin Sharma.
The three-day programme provided participants with valuable theoretical and practical exposure to minimally processed vegetables and juice making sessions, value addition and entrepreneurial opportunities, with a focus on developing skills that can be translated into sustainable livelihood and self-employment opportunities.
The programme concluded with the distribution of Participation Certificates to all the twenty Five (25) participants.
The Department of Food Processing Industries appreciates the valuable support and collaboration of CAEPHT and all faculty members, resource persons, Master Trainers and participants for making the programme a meaningful and successful learning experience.
