Today, on 20th November 2025, the first meeting of the Nasha Mukti Cell was held at the Cooperation Department, Head Office, Sahakari Bhawan, and was chaired by the PRCS-cum-Secretary. The meeting was attended by all core members of the departmental committee and conducted by the Member Secretary of the Cell. The Cell has been notified by the Department as per the requirements of the Nasha Mukt Sikkim Abhiyan – Sahayogi Karmachari programme.
The Member Secretary briefed the meeting about the State-level meeting on Nasha Mukt Sikkim Abhiyan, chaired earlier in the day by the Chief Secretary, Government of Sikkim, and apprised the members of his directives.
During the meeting, the Chairperson explained the role of Sahayogi Karmachari and called for enhanced coordination among the core members. The Secretary also proposed that the Cell convene a meeting on the first Saturday of every month, beginning 6th December.
It was further decided to organise an awareness camp by inviting experts from the Social Welfare Department and counselling officers to understand various approaches, actionable points, and to enable the Cell to plan its future course of action.
The members also resolved that the Heads of District Offices should be invited to gain clarity on the scope of the Sahayogi Karmachari programme, as similar actions will be required in the district offices for the benefit of all departmental officials.
It may be mentioned that the Department has already organised a general awareness programme for all officers and officials on 14th November 2025 in the august presence of the Hon’ble Minister, RDD, PR & Cooperation, Government of Sikkim.
