Gangtok, August 5: The Gangtok district edition of SIKKIM RISE (Realising Ideas, Shaping Entrepreneurship) concluded successfully today with the district-level pitching competition, marking the culmination of the two-day entrepreneurship programme and the successful completion of the final district edition of SIKKIM RISE under the Sikkim INSPIRES Programme.

The initiative is being organised by the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with the SEED Cell, under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), with IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) as the Knowledge Partner.

The pitching session was held in the presence of Shri Dipen Subba, OSD, Commerce & Industries Department and General Secretary, SEED Cell; Shri Agawane Rohan Ramesh, IAS, District Collector, Gangtok; Shri Janak Chettri, General Manager, DIC, Gangtok; Shri Tashi Ongdup Lepcha, Organisation Secretary, SEED Cell; Shri Mahesh Dawari, Secretary Finance, SEED Cell; Ms. Prathana Subba, District Coordinator, Gangtok, SEED Cell; and Shri Bikash Sharma, District Joint Coordinator, Gangtok, SEED Cell.

The competition was conducted across two pitching rooms, where aspiring entrepreneurs from across Gangtok District presented their innovative business ideas before expert juries. Pitching Room I was evaluated by Shri Ram Kumar, Resource Team, IIMCIP; Dr. Arjun K. Adhikari, Founder and CEO, Paksam Group of Enterprise; and Shri D.B. Tamang, Faculty, ATTC Incubation Centre. Pitching Room II was evaluated by Shri Bikash Basnet, Founder, Bytes Berry Technologies; Ms. Anasuya Mahanta, Resource Team, IIMCIP; and Shri Soujit Das, Resource Team, IIMCIP. The jury members assessed the pitches on innovation, feasibility, scalability, and market potential while providing valuable feedback to the participants.

With the successful conclusion of the Gangtok edition, the district-level phase of SIKKIM RISE has now been completed across all districts of Sikkim. Selected entrepreneurs from the district editions will now advance to the State Semi-Finals, marking the next milestone in the Government of Sikkim’s mission to nurture innovation, empower aspiring entrepreneurs, and realise the vision of One Family, One Entrepreneur.
