Kolkata, November 17, 2025:
A four-day Capacity Building Incubation Programme for incubators and facilitators of the Government of Sikkim, conducted under the Sikkim INSPIRES initiative, successfully concluded on 14th November 2025 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta Innovation Park, Kolkata.
Organised to strengthen Sikkim’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, the programme brought together officials from the Commerce & Industries Department and faculty members involved in incubation, start-up facilitation, and enterprise development. As part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance the start-up ecosystem, ATTC Bardang and CCCT Chisopani are also in the process of being registered as incubators with DPIIT, Government of India- an important step towards expanding institutional support for emerging entrepreneurs.
The programme featured high-impact sessions led by distinguished experts, including Mr. Kaustav Majumdar, who conducted the module on stakeholder management, and brings over 26 years of global entrepreneurial experience, and Mr. Debapratim Das, who led the session on Fund Management and is a seasoned finance professional with more than 32 years of expertise across lending, credit, risk, and portfolio management. The four-day agenda also covered a wide spectrum of incubation management themes such as Design Thinking- Student Entrepreneurship, Programme Design & Implementation, Legal & HR, and strategies for outreach, enterprise support, and innovation frameworks- all delivered by accomplished experts from the IIM Calcutta Innovation Park.
Overall, the training equipped participants with practical insights into incubation management, acceleration models, fundraising pathways, and operational strategies to support early-stage ventures in emerging markets. Participants shared that the programme was enriching, relevant, and timely, aligning with Sikkim’s vision of fostering a vibrant start-up culture across districts. Importantly, the programme underscores the Government of Sikkim’s committed efforts to build a strong and dynamic start-up ecosystem, enabling incubation centres like ATTC and CCCT-soon to be registered with DPIIT, GoI- to play a more strategic role in nurturing innovation and empowering entrepreneurs across the state.
The Government of Sikkim extends its gratitude to IIM Calcutta for its expertise, collaboration, and continued support in building a resilient and future-ready entrepreneurship landscape.
