Incubation Services under Sikkim INSPIRES Inaugurated at ATTC Bardang
Gangtok, March 11:
The inauguration of Incubation Services under Sikkim INSPIRES was held today at the Advanced Technical Training Centre (ATTC), Bardang. The programme was organised by the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, in collaboration with ATTC Bardang, with the objective of strengthening the startup and innovation ecosystem in the state.
The initiative aims to provide structured incubation support to aspiring entrepreneurs and startups by facilitating access to technical infrastructure, mentorship, and institutional support. Through these incubation services, innovators and young entrepreneurs will be supported in transforming ideas into viable enterprises while strengthening the startup ecosystem of the state.
The Vice Principal of ATTC, Lochan Adhikari, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the importance of institutional support and technical training in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth.
The programme also featured a briefing on the Sikkim Start-Up Policy 2025 by Rigzen Wangchuk Bhutia, Under Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, aimed at informing participants about the policy framework and incentives available for startups in Sikkim.
During the technical sessions, Shri Bikash Basnett of the Seed Cell delivered a detailed presentation on the SPARK Portal, explaining its role as a digital platform for startups and entrepreneurs to register, access support services, and connect with the state’s startup ecosystem.
This was followed by a comprehensive session by Shri Om Prakash Mishra, team lead of Sikkim Inspires Technical Support Agency, who presented on the incubation services available under Sikkim INSPIRES. He explained the incubation process, the types of support extended to startups, including mentorship, business advisory, networking opportunities, co-working spaces and access to technical resources. His presentation also highlighted how incubation support can help early-stage entrepreneurs refine their ideas, develop sustainable business models, and scale their ventures effectively.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking an important step toward strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup development in Sikkim.
