District Industries Centre (DIC), Gyalshing, Inaugurates Basic Knitting and Crochet Training under the RAMP Scheme at Hee Gaon

Gyalshing,February 10:Under the RAMP(Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance)Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, and with support from the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, the Basic Knitting and Crochet Training Programme was formally inaugurated at Hee Sapung Samaj Ghar, Dentam Block, Gyalshing District,today in collaboration with Queen Candles Studio.

The inaugural programme was graced by Mr Dhiraj Jairu, Inspector, District Industries Centre (DIC), Gyalshing, Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim.

Mr Jairu in his address, encouraged the participants and highlighted the importance of skill development, self-employment, and entrepreneurship for sustainable livelihood generation.

A total of 20 participants have enrolled in the 30-day training programme, which aims to enhance technical skills in knitting and crochet, promote entrepreneurship, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities, particularly for local artisans and aspiring entrepreneurs.

The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Government towards strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and empowering local communities through capacity building and skill development.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and marks a significant step towards inclusive economic growth and self-employment in Gyalshing District, aligning with the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) —“One Family, One Entrepreneur.”
