Jan Suraksha Campaign Conducted in Nandok

Gangtok, August 6:

Today, the Nandok CFL Office successfully conducted the Jan Suraksha Campaign at the Nandok BAC Hall in Gangtok district under the aegis of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), with the support of State Bank of India (SBI) and CRISIL Foundation, and financial assistance from NABARD.

The chief guest of the program was Mr. Anit Lamichanay. LDM of SLBC Gangtok. Similarly, Mr. Parag Nagdive, LDO of RBI; branch managers from various banks; Ms. Usha Sharma, Center Manager of CFL Gangtok; CFL staff; the WDS Chairperson of Nandok Ward; members from various SHG groups; and other office staff were notably present.

Chief Guest Mr. Lamichanay shared information about various government schemes operated through banks and urged everyone to be cautious, highlighting the increasing cases of fraud through online gaming. Likewise, Mr. Sangye Lama, Branch Manager of SBI Ranipool, informed the audience during his remarks that a KYC Update Campaign is ongoing from July 1 to September 30, and requested all service users to visit their respective banks to update their KYC. He mentioned that this process is mandatory once every 10 years and allows users to receive banking information directly on their mobile devices.

Ms. Usha Sharma, Center Manager of CFL Gangtok, mentioned the rising trend in cybercrimes and emphasized the need for public awareness and self-vigilance to stay protected. She also shared crucial information related to cyber frauds.

The main objective of the program was to inform people about various social security schemes run by the central government, spread awareness about banking services, and provide guidance on how to stay protected from fraud, theft, robbery, and cybercrime.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Field Coordinator Ms. Deepa Bhutia, followed by the official closure announcement of the event.
