Educational Tour to Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary

Namchi, 11 February: The Eco Club of CCCT organized a one-day educational tour to the Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary on 8th February 2026, involving students, faculty members, and staff on 10th February.

The objective of the visit was to connect students with nature, create awareness about the importance of conserving the earth, flora, and fauna, and promote cleanliness (Swachhata) in the tourist belt of our beautiful state, Sikkim.

The visit provided participants with firsthand exposure to the rich biodiversity and natural ecosystem of the sanctuary, enhancing their understanding of environmental conservation and sustainable living.

As part of the activity, a cleanliness drive was conducted in designated areas of the sanctuary to promote environmental responsibility and help maintain the scenic beauty of the tourist belt. Students and staff members also took a Green Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to protect and preserve nature.

A total of 57 participants, including students, faculty, and staff members, took part in the tour. The educational tour proved to be both informative and impactful, fostering environmental consciousness and a strong sense of responsibility toward nature and sustainability among the participants.
