Mangan, Aug 31: The Farm School on Millet in Dzongu was successfully inaugurated in Sangdong on August 31, 2025.
The event began with a ceremonial offering of khadas to Ward Panchayat Mrs. Sangkit Lepcha and host farmer Mr.Tomchung Lepcha by ADO Dzongu, Mr. Adarsh Rai.
Choden Lepcha, Marketing Assistant, delivered the welcome address, followed by a detailed overview of the farm school by ADO.
The Ward Panchayat expressed gratitude to ATMA and the Agriculture Department for their support.
The program culminated in a hands-on activity, where participants engaged in the transplantation of millet. This initiative aims to empower local farmers with practical knowledge and sustainable practices, enhancing productivity and environmental sustainability in the region.
The event mainly focused on SHG participants where in ADO gave an in-depth idea of branding, marketing and value chain addition of millet.
