Goat Distribution Programme Held at Rabitar under RAD Scheme
Namchi, 21 September :
A Goat Distribution Programme under the Rainfed Area Development (RAD) Programme was successfully organized at Rabitar Manghim cluster by the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department, Namchi District on 20th September.
The programme was graced by Mrs. Doma Lepcha, Chairperson (AH&VS, south ), CLC President Mr. O.T. Lepcha, Director (SR) Dr. Sonam Choden Bhutia, Additional Director (SR) Dr. Tashi Chuzang Bhutia, Additional Director Dr. Latta Rai, JD Dr. Perna Gurung, DD Dr. Karmakit Lepcha, and other CLC members.
The programme started with the welcoming address by Additional Director Dr. Latta Rai, along with offering khadas to the guests.
A total of 26 crossbred goats were distributed to progressive farmers of the area.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Mrs. Doma Lepcha encouraged farmers to multiply goat production to meet the growing demand in the state.
Dr. Sonam Choden Bhutia briefed the gathering on the scheme and shared technical suggestions, while Dr. Tashi Chuzang Bhutia highlighted the prospects and management practices of small ruminant farming.
CLC President Mr. O.T. Lepcha expressed gratitude to the department for the initiative.
