Training-cum-Distribution Programme under Vibrant Village Programme–II Held at Premlakha Subaneydara,Pakyong District
Pakyong, 28 September: Agriculture Department in coordination with Horticulture Department under Pakyong District, organised a Training-cum-Distribution Programme under the Vibrant Village Programme–II (VVP-II) at Premlakha Subaneydara GPU, Regu Block with the objective of strengthening agricultural practices and promoting awareness among local farming communities about various departmental interventions, government schemes and available subsidies.
The programme focused on sensitising farmers to the benefits of VVP-II and encouraging the adoption of improved and scientific farming practices to enhance agricultural productivity and livelihood opportunities.
During the technical sessions, Shri Ashok Gurung, ADO, Regu, briefed the participants on various government support programmes and departmental initiatives available for farmers. He also gave insight on Soyabean cultivation.Shri Karma Pincho Lepcha, HDO, elaborated on the scientific package of practices for potato cultivation, highlighting improved techniques for better crop growth and productivity.
The programme was attended by Smt. C.K. Chettri, Hon’ble Panchayat President, Premlakha Subaneydara GPU; Shri L.B. Manger, Hon’ble Panchayat Vice President; Hon’ble Panchayat Members Shri Karma Sherpa, Smt. Dalu Sherpa and Smt. Dhaden Bhutia, along with departmental officials and staff, progressive farmers and local youth.
The programme concluded with the distribution of quality potato and Rajma seeds to progressive farmers, reaffirming the Department’s commitment to supporting farming communities through capacity building, timely input distribution and the effective implementation of government schemes.
The initiative under VVP-II is expected to further encourage farmers to adopt improved agricultural practices and strengthen the agricultural livelihood of the rural community in Premlakha Subaneydara
