KHET BACHAO ABHIYAN
On dated: 26/10/2026, the "Khet Bachao Abhiyan" was successfully organized on the aegis of Agriculture Department under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Karma Chewang Bhutia, Deputy Director Agriculture Geyzing District.
The programme had the presence of Shri Bishon Pradhan, Sr Scientist cum Head KVK Geyzing District, Hon'ble Panchayat from various GPUs.
The nationwide programme has been officially launched by the Ministry of Agricultural and Farmers Welfare Department, Govt. of India from 22nd October to 31st November. The main motive of the programme is to promote the conservation and productive utilization of agricultural land while encouraging farmers to adopt sustainable agriculture practices.
The programme also emphasized the importance of safeguarding cultivable land, enhancing agricultural productivity, and strengthening food security through improved farming techniques.
Additionally, the initiative witnessed the active participation of resource persons from the concerned department, SMSs KVK Geyzing, local farmers and esteemed public of various GPUs under Geyzing block
