72nd Battalion SSB Strengthens Border Ties: Veterinary Camp and 'Vibrant Village' Economic Initiative Launched in Begha,Dentam

Gyalshing,March 6:

In a powerful demonstration of service and community trust, the 72nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) organised a comprehensive Veterinary Health Camp in Begha Village(Dentam)on March 5. The initiative successfully provided medical treatment to 225 livestock, directly benefiting 28 pastoralist families in the border region.

The event was graced by Hon’ble MLA Maneybung-Dentam Shri Sudesh Kumar Limboo as Chief guest, whose presence underscored the importance of such humanitarian efforts. He was joined by a team of distinguished experts, including Shri BB Limboo(Additional Director AH &VS Gyalshing);Shri Phurba Lepcha (Joint Director AH &VS,Gyalshing), and Dr Jashbeena Thapa (Veterinary Officer), who provided essential medical services and guidance to the villagers.

A landmark strategic discussion took place during the camp between Shri Narayan Ram Khadav, Second-in-Command, 72nd Battalion SSB, and the Hon’ble MLA regarding the 'Vibrant Villages' (VVP) programme. Both parties reached a mutual agreement to facilitate the procurement of essential supplies for the SSB directly from 'Vibrant Villages'. This initiative aims to pave a concrete path toward economic self-reliance for local villagers. Shri Limboo(MLA) highly commended the SSB for this revolutionary step and pledged to personally sensitize the local community to participate in this economic partnership.

Supported by the technical expertise of Shri Suraj Mishra (Assistant Commandant) and Veterinary Assistant Narendra Sain, the camp not only ensured the protection of local livestock but also deepened the bond of "Prosperity with Security" between the border residents and the security forces.
