Today under the able guidance and direction of the Commandant, the 72nd Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal,Yuksam successfully organised a free medicine distribution and primary eye check-up camp as part of the Medical Civic Action Programme at Tathang,Yuksam.
The camp was conducted with the presence and support of Dr Pankaj Sood of Greater Lions Eye Hospital, Siliguri. The primary objective of this programme was to provide accessible and quality healthcare to citizens living in border and remote areas and to raise awareness about eye health. During the camp, expert ophthalmologists and paramedical staff conducted in-depth primary eye check-ups.
A total of 146 citizens participated in the camp and underwent eye check-ups. Following the check-ups, those found to be in need were also provided with free spectacles. This public welfare initiative significantly benefited local citizens.
