Mangan, May 21: SHO Mangan PI Prashant Rai along with police team conducted foot patrolling and checking of two-wheelers at Namok–Mangshila today.
During the course of patrolling, interaction was made with the local public regarding activities related to drugs and information was gathered accordingly. Similarly, two riders were booked under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act for violation of traffic rules.
In addition, while returning from patrolling, two police personnel namely SI Siddharth Shah and WCT Anuradha Barma of Bongaon, West Bengal, travelling on their two-wheeler bearing registration No. WB 01 AS 2149 towards Lachung for vacation, were found to have met with a minor accident at Tingchim Road.
Thereafter, necessary assistance was provided to them. During the course of interaction, they expressed their desire to proceed to Siliguri for treatment as the rider SI Siddharth Shah had sustained injury on his leg, whereas the pillion rider WCT Anuradha Barma, was found normal.
Accordingly, a vehicle was arranged for them up to Phodong PHC for providing first aid and the Duty Officer of Phodong PS was intimated regarding the same. The involved vehicle has been kept at Rangrang Police Outpost on the request of the rider and his wife.
