Upgradation of Conference Hall at Commerce and Industries Department


Gangtok, November 6 (IPR): The newly upgraded conference hall of the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, was inaugurated today by the Minister, Commerce and Industries Department and Tourism and Civil Aviation Department, Mr Tshering Thendup Bhutia, in the presence of Secretary, Commerce and Industries Department, Ms Karma D Youtso, at Udyog Bhawan, Gangtok.

The upgradation work has been undertaken under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, and implemented by the Commerce and Industries Department, Government of Sikkim.

The conference hall has a total seating capacity of 60, comprising a main hall of 40 seats and a mini conference hall with 20 seats. The facility will serve as a key venue for hosting departmental conferences, meetings, video conferences, seminars, and workshops. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to further enhance the department's capacity for coordination, policy discussions, and implementation of programmes aimed at promoting trade, industry, and entrepreneurship in the State.

The inaugural programme was attended by Director (MSME), Mr M Ravikumar; Joint Secretary (MSME), Ms Champa Sharma; Joint Secretary (Industries), Mr Gopal Chettri; Joint Secretary (Industries), Mr Hemanth Khatiwada; and Joint Secretary (Commerce and Industries), Ms Krishna Kumari Gurung, along with officials and staff of the department.
